We know what dangers to expect out there from black suns, neutron storms, radiation and the like, but if we think we know everything that goes on out there, we're making a terrible mistake!" John Koenig, Commander Moonbase Alpha In 1976 several episodes were compiled into movie length specials.

Most of the photographs and technical diagrams are in color, a definite improvement over the previous edition's all black-and-white illustrations. Among the new entries are DVD technology and Internet.
It difficult to find fault with this clearly written resource that uses simple, nontechnical terms to explain scientific concepts at a basic level. Cemetery Man (Dellamorte, Dellamore) Directed by Michele Soavi Written by Novel: Tiziano Sclavi, Screenplay: Gianni Romoli Starring Rupert Everett Franзois Hadji-Lazaro Anna Falchi Music by Manuel De Sica, Riccardo Biseo Cinematography Mauro Marchetti Distributed by October Films Release date(s) 1994 Running time 105 min. Language English (separate spanish subs included)

Plot Dellamorte Dellamore (also known as Cemetery Man in the United States and Of Love and Death in Australia) is a 1994 Italian horror film directed by Michele Soavi. The screenplay by Gianni Romoli was based on the 1991 novel by Tiziano Sclavi. The film stars Rupert Everett, Franзois Hadji-Lazaro and Anna Falchi. After directing a particularly stylish giallo, Deliria (1987), and a pair of atmospheric supernatural thrillers, La Chiesa (1989) and La Setta (1991), Dario Argento protйgй Soavi's fourth feature film would not be categorized so easily. Part supernatural romance, part satire of Italian politics, and part zombie splatter comedy, Dellamorte Dellamore's story concerns the beleaguered caretaker of a small Italian cemetery, who searches for love while defending the town from zombies. The film was released in Italy to some acclaim, but United States distributor October Films changed its title to Cemetery Man and saddled the film with a campy ad campaign, finally releasing it on April 26, 1996. In the US, Cemetery Man received mostly negative critical reaction,[1][2] small theatrical distribution (opening on six screens), and a frequently delayed Region 1 DVD release. The film missed popular success, grossing only $253,969 in the US, but found a stateside cult following over time, via home video. Renowned director Martin Scorsese called Dellamorte Dellamore one of the best films of the 1990s.[3]

Superbad is a 2007 comedy written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. They began writing the script when they were 13 years old to see if they could make a movie. The film is directed by former television director Greg Mottola and is produced by Judd Apatow, previously known for directing The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up.The film was a critical and commercial success, inspiring comparisons to Apatow's previous film, Knocked Up which was released earlier in the summer. ~Wikipedia
Produced by Judd Apatow and co-written by Seth Rogen--both of 40 YEAR OLD VIRGIN and KNOCKED UP fame--SUPERBAD is the story of two horny teenage geeks looking to lose their virginity before college. Seth (Jonah Hill) and Evan (Michael Cera) are hoping to end high school on a high note, and when one of their crushes (Emma Hill) invites them to a graduation party, the boys are ecstatic. That is, until they become responsible for supplying the party with alcohol. They hurriedly concoct a scheme to use their friend Fogell's (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) horrendously fake ID, but trouble soon arises when Fogell becomes the victim of a liquor store robbery. The cops (Rogen and Bill Hader) show up, and the evening quickly disintegrates into a hilarious mess of misunderstandings, crackhead sing-alongs, and beer mixed with laundry detergent.
Hill is a riot as the wild-haired and foul-mouthed Seth, and Mintz-Plasse is great fun as the uber-geek Fogell. But Michael Cera (formerly of ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT) steals the show as the sensitive and levelheaded Evan. His oddball line delivery and excellent comic timing make for some of the most bizarre but best moments of the film. The sexual humor can be pretty graphic at times, which is no doubt what earned the movie its R rating. Yet, despite gross-out jokes involving menstrual blood and penis drawings, SUPERBAD somehow manages to fly far above frat-boy, AMERICAN PIE-style humor. This is partly due to the comedic skill of the actors, but also because the characters--silly and absurd though they can be--are so well-written. Watching these bungling outcasts is a vivid reminder of the horrific lows and supreme highs of high school life, and their antics rather poignantly capture how age 18 can indeed be super bad, but also super good. ~Rotten Tomatoes |
