#6 - Slow Electrical Processes in the Brain, Volume 7 (Progress in Brain Research) by N. A. Aladjalova |
Publisher: Elsevier Science (January 15, 1964) | ISBN: 0444400079 | Pages: 243 | PDF | 15.94 MB Many phenomena in animal nerve tissue are accompanied by electrical processes. These processes are largely due to mechanisms of nervous activity. They provide special opportunities for studying those aspects of nervous activity which generally do not lend themselves to other research techniques. Conversion of the energy of cell metabolism to a specific neuronal function is responsible for molecular and ionic changes, which are associated with the appearance of electrical potentials and changes in electrical constants of the tissue - its electroconducting and dielectric properties. The electrical potentials that arise in the brain have a varied origin. These include the brief impulses lasting 0.2-3 msec that follow excitation of the neuron and the slower potentials lasting 10-20msec that reflect the processes of local excitation in the cell body and in its dendritic processes. Slow potential oscillations with periods ranging from 50-500 msec are shown in the electrocorticogram (ECoG). |

#7 - Power Electronics in Smart Electrical Energy Networks |
Power Electronics in Smart Electrical Energy NetworksSpringer | 2008 | ISBN: 184800317X | 414 pages | PDF | 14,9 MB Power Electronics in Smart Electrical Energy Networks introduces a new viewpoint on power electronics, re-thinking the basic philosophy governing electricity distribution systems. The proposed concept fully exploits the potential advantages of renewable energy sources and distributed generation (DG), which should not only be connected but also fully integrated into the distribution system in order to increase the efficiency, flexibility, safety, reliability and quality of the electricity and the networks. The transformation of current electricity grids into smart (resilient and interactive) |

#8 - Electrical Neuroimaging 2009 |
Electrical Neuroimaging 20092009 | ISBN: 0521879795 | 248 pages | PDF | 7.25 MB Electrical neuroimaging is based on the analysis of brain electrical activity recorded from the human scalp with multichannel EEG. It offers enormous potential for the dynamic mapping of brain functions, and for the non-invasive diagnosis of neurological and psychiatric conditions. This authoritative reference gives a systematic overview of new electrical imaging methods, with a sound introduction to the basics of multichannel recording of EEG and event-related potential (ERP) data, as well as spatio-temporal analysis of the potential fields. The book enables researchers to measure valid data, select and apply appropriate analysis strategies, and avoid the most common mistakes when analyzing and interpreting EEG/ERP data. Importantly, it informs the research communities of the possibilities opened by these space-domain oriented approaches to the analysis of brain electrical activity, and of their potential to offer even more powerful diagnostic techniques when integrated with other clinically relevant data. |

#9 - Computer-aided Design of Electrical Machines |
Computer-aided Design of Electrical Machines BS Publications | 2008 | ISBN: 144166159X, 8178001462 | 335 pages | PDF | 11 MB
A design problem has to be fonnulated considering the various constraints, processes, availability of materials, quality aspects. cost aspects etc. Constraints can be from technical, cost or availability aspects. Technical constraints can be from calculation methods, available process systems, skilled labour, manufacturing facilities, machinery,or tools etc. Sometimes transport facilities to site also pose problems. If suitable quality . materials are not available indigenously they may have to be imported, which effects cost and delivery time. |

#12 - Software Error Detection through Testing and Analysis |
J. C. Huang "Software Error Detection through Testing and Analysis" June 2009 | English | ISBN-13: 978-0-470-40444-7 | 270 Pages | PDF | 6.14 MBAn in-depth review of key techniques in software error detection Software error detection is one of the most challenging problems in software engineering. Now, you can learn how to make the most of software testing by selecting test cases to maximize the probability of revealing latent errors. Software Error Detection through Testing and Analysis begins with a thorough discussion of test-case selection and a review of the concepts, notations, and principles used in the book. Next, it covers: * Code-based test-case selection methods * Specification-based test-case selection methods * Additional advanced topics in testing * Analysis of symbolic trace * Static analysis * Program instrumentation Each chapter begins with a clear introduction and ends with exercises for readers to test their understanding of the material. Plus, appendices provide a logico-mathematical background, glossary, and questions for self-assessment. Assuming a basic background in software quality assurance and an ability to write nontrivial programs, the book is free of programming languages and paradigms used to construct the program under test. Software Error Detection through Testing and Analysis is suitable as a professional reference for software testing specialists, software engineers, software developers, and software programmers. It is also appropriate as a textbook for software engineering, software testing, and software quality assurance courses at the advanced undergraduate and graduate levels. |
